The Garden of Artemis is a work that like the one which precedes it aims at the reconfiguration of a circumscribed spatial area: the area of San Sebastianello between the Senatorial palace and the City building on Via Minerva. The work consist of the ideation of a garden inside a volume (that has not yet been realized) into which an access stairwell to the temple excavations is inserted. Regarding the construction of the Garden of Artems, the author had a double objective: to give the area back a sense of fragmented space, which is difficult to perceive due to the discordant accumulation of the constructions surrounding them and to render the work reversible while waiting for developments regarding the definitive systemization of the archaeological finds.
The starting point of the project was that of highlighting the following, inspired suggestion of strong connotations of the place. In this way, the space, was imagined as an 'offering' to Artemide, goddess of the hunt, the forest and the nymphs. The later development of the route brought the author to individuate a formal theme permitting the reconstruction of all the many presences: thick vegetation, elements emerging from the archaeological excavations, the differences in height the discovery of the Greek cistern during the works.
An efficient formal theme was devised by the dry mounted oxidized steel sheets and by the welded electrical grids anchored to the ground, with patterns in the of various-sized rocks to form the containment structure of the earth in different way, the works realized were imagined as 'device' ready to host the natural flora of the site. The oxidized metal sheets are arranged as a regular sequence of separate panels and their visible Fissures give the space a measured cadence.
